The Mt. Olivet Worship ministry is looking for volunteers to help out with the worship services currently being held every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday. We are looking for individuals to help out in the areas of teaching, drama, the spoken word, and praise and worship. If you are interested please contact Janson Sandifer @ jrsandifer@cbbunet.com
Mt. Olivet Lab School has been awarded a grant to provide Summer Residential Camping Scholarships. Approved camps are listed at the American Camp Association website @ http://www.acacamps.org/ and the National Camping Association website @ http://www.summercamp.org/ . Camps must be at least 3 nights. Sports camps and day camps do not qualify. Youth ages 8-15 may apply for scholarships. Preference will be given to first time campers. Applications will be available in the youth area this Wednesday and the early deadline is April 1, 2008.
For those who attended the W. E. .B DuBois Scholars Institute information session or who are interested in the program, today is the deadline for scholarship applications. Friday, March 7th is the Program application deadline. If you need assistance with the application process, please contact Joyvin Benton at 973-720-2623 or at jbenton@webduboisscholars.org.

The Deaconess and Deacon for the month of March are Sister Gaynell Ballard and Brother Joe Warren. If you need special prayer or will be going into the hospital or have a question about the church you may contact them or see them after each worship service.
The Prayer Warriors of Mt Olivet invite you to join us in prayer, Saturday mornings, 9:00-10:00 A.M. We meet on the lower level of the church. Just follow the sound of praise and worship to ".have a little talk with Jesus." See you Saturday, The Prayer Warriors
Are you looking for a Ministry to join is 2008? If the answer is yes, the Van Ministry is in need of five additional drivers. We currently have only three drivers to accommodate our members and visitors. If you are interested please contact Tori Agnew or Felicia Brown.
The following persons are in training for the trustee ministry: James Barber, Almarie Jernigan, Givonn Logan and Tiffane Smith. Please pray for these persons who will begin training for the trustee ministry and don't forget to thank them for accepting the challenge.
The fitness class has moved to the first and third Saturday only.

It's that time of year again.our Spring Retreat! Please join us on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Martin Luther King Center, beginning at 9AM. The speaker will be Minister Mary Winston from Living Word Church, St. Paul, MN. The registration fee is $20; you can sign up in the Media room following both services. We look forward to seeing you at this year's Spring Retreat!
The Food Shelf Ministry will collect can goods on Sunday, March 16th. Please remember that items should not be dented, rusted or expired. Items should be dropped off in Fellowship Hall in between the 8:00 A.M. and 10:45 A.M. worship services. If you can share one item, it will be a blessing to someone in need.
The items suggested for donation include: Peanut Butter, Tuna Fish, One-can meals, Cereal, soup, vegetables, macaroni & cheese, Fruit, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, toilet paper, laundry soap, toothpaste, tampons, pads, bar soap and tooth brushes, baby food, and formula.
On Wednesday, March 19 from 6-7pm, The Everlasting Arms Ministry will be meeting in the church library. Topics of Discussion: MN AIDS walk and preparing for the next workshop.
EAM is always looking for volunteers to assist with workshops, publications, training, and teaching. If you are interested, please join our ministry to help educate the church and community about preventing and protecting ourselves against this devastating disease.
Fact of the Month: HIV/AIDS among Black Americans
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of Black Americans living with AIDS increased by 33% between 2001 and 2005 and although Black Americans represent only 12% of the U.S. population, they account for half of AIDS cases. Black women account for the vast majority of new AIDS cases among women and while Black teens (aged 13-19) represent only 15% of U.S. teenagers, they account for more than 70% of new AIDS cases reported among teens. In Sub-Saharan Africa, an estimated 24.5 million adults and children are living with HIV.

The Pilgrim Baptist Church will be our guest on Wednesday, March 19th at 7:00 P.M. The Reverend Charles Gill, Jr. will bring the message for the evening. Please plan to join us as we share with our sister church in preparing to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.
The St. Paul Black Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will host its annual Good Friday Service on March 21st at noon. The Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church (585 Fuller Ave, Stpl) will be the host for this community worship.
The church office will close at noon on March 21st.
The Mt. Olivet Church will celebrate the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ at 7:00 A.M. on Sunday, March 23rd. Please plan to join us for this sacred worship.
On March 30th there will be a joint worship service at Mt. Olivet. Sunday school will begin at 8:30 A.M. and worship will begin at 9:45 A.M.
Come and go with us to Beloit, Wisconsin for our annual fellowship with the Emmanuel Baptist Church during the weekend of April 26th and 27th. If you plan to ride the bus please contact Mrs. Delores Freeman to reserve a seat. The bus fare to Beloit is $44.00 round trip. The deadline for the bus payment is April 20th.
As in past years we will be staying at the Ramada Inn of Greater Beloit. The cost of the room is $97.90 (Includes 10%Tax) and rooms must be paid in full by April 13th if not paying by credit card. Please get the form for your hotel room(s) from Mrs. Iris Lewis. All forms must be completed and returned to Mrs. Lewis by April 6th.
