Church: Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church – St. Paul, Minnesota

 

Position Summary

 

Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a spirit-led, visionary, and compassionate

Pastor. The Pastor will provide leadership in preaching, teaching, pastoral care, administration,

and community outreach, guiding the congregation in spiritual growth and service to God. The

Pastor is expected to model integrity, humility, and a Christ-centered life, and to strengthen the

church’s mission through biblical teaching and effective ministry leadership.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

Administrative Leadership 

 

  ● Serve as President of the corporate church and oversee all church operations.

  ● Establish short and long-term goals and priorities for ministry effectiveness.

  ● Implement church policies and bylaws; ensure compliance with all governing documents.

  ● Oversee office procedures, church maintenance, and daily operations.

  ● Recruit, develop, and evaluate church staff; recommend hiring or discharging as needed.

  ● Maintain financial growth and stability in partnership with church leadership.

 

Spiritual Leadership

 

  ● Prepare and deliver biblically sound sermons for all Worship Services.

  ● Lead and participate in revivals and special services designated by the church calendar.

  ● Recruit and develop pastoral and lay leadership.

  ● Conduct and oversee the ordinances of the church, including communion, baptism,

      marriages, funerals, dedications, and ordinations.

 

Teaching and Discipleship

 

  ● Lead weekly Bible Study sessions and support the Sunday School Department.

  ● Foster the development of spiritual gifts and leadership across all auxiliaries.

  ● Encourage participation in Christian education programs for all ages.

 

Pastoral Care and Counseling

 

  ● Provide confidential counseling for individuals, couples, and families.

  ● Offer comfort and spiritual support to the sick, bereaved, and those in crisis.

  ● Be visibly present and engaged within the congregation and community.

 

Community and Outreach

 

  ● Support and expand church membership through outreach and evangelism.

  ● Represent Mt. Olivet in local, state, and national Baptist conventions and alliances.

  ● Promote partnerships and collaboration with other ministries and organizations.

  ● Deep personal faith with the ability to communicate and model a mature spiritual journey.

  ● Effective communicator who values diversity and inclusion in ministry.

  ● Skilled in conflict resolution and maintaining unity within the church body.

  ● Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others to spiritual growth and service.

  ● Proven leadership in developing youth and lay leadership.

  ● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and supervisory skills.

  ● Commitment to visibility and engagement within the church and community.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

 

  ● Education: Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, or a master’s degree in a related

      ministry discipline (required).

  ● Experience:

          o Ordained Pastor with experience serving in a Baptist church.

          o Experience administering all Baptist ordinances and traditions.

          o Demonstrated success in developing lay and youth leadership.

          o Experience in family and individual counseling.

          o Proven ability to manage financial and operational aspects of an organization.

Position Title: Secretary

 

Church: Mt. Olivet Baptist Church

 

 

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated, organized, and friendly individual to serve as

our full-time Church Secretary. This is a crucial role supporting the ministry and daily operations

of our church.

Key Responsibilities

    Serve as a primary point of contact for church members and visitors.

    Manage correspondence, phone calls, and emails for the church office.

    Maintain church records, employee payroll, schedules, and event calendars.

    Assist with preparation of bulletins, newsletters, and other communications.

    Provide administrative support to the pastor and church leadership.

    Coordinate facility usage and room reservations.

    Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Qualifications

   High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.

   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

   Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

   Experience in office administration or secretarial work.

   Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

   Commitment to the Christian values and mission of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
